ACC approves suit against Inquilab Editor

The Anti Corruption Commission yesterday approved filing a case against the Inquilab editor and publications director on the charge amassing illegal wealth.
Following the approval, ACC Assistant Director Muhammad Joynal Abedin of ACC Integrated District Office-1 filed the case. ACC Public Relations Officer Pronob Kumar Bhattachariya confirmed the matter to the media.
He said Bahauddin has been accused of amassing wealth worth Taka one crore 70 lakh 29 thousand 433 beyond his known
sources of income. It includes concealing information assets worth Taka 89, 19,000.
The case document says, Inquilab Enterprise and Publication Limited Director Bahauddin also concealed information of his wealth worth Tk 89,19,000 in his submitted false and baseless statement.
He amassed wealth worth Taka one crore 70,29,433 beyond his known sources of information and the property is in his possession, which is punishable offence under sections 26(2 and 27(1) of the ACC Act 2004. Meanwhile, investigation has been continuing against him since 2016.
