The academic activities of ‘Islami Arabic University’ will start soon. The Education Ministry has already selected its temporary campus at Dhaka Education Board Computer Center in the capital’s Dhanmondi, the Ministry sources said.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will visit the temporary campus today (Sunday).
The top officials of the ministry said the establishment of the ‘Islami Arabic University’ was demand of the ‘Alem Somaj.’ The ministry establismed the university as per the law of Islami Arabic University-2013, which was passed by the Parliament.
The university will lead 1,260 Fazil and Kamil Madrashas. The institutions are now under Islami University Kushtia. Earlier,
the institutions were under Bangladesh Madrasha Education Board.
The students of these institutions will be provided training to make them skilled for all professions. The university will also contribute in spreading Islamic education in the country. The government also included sciences and technological subjects in the syllabus of Madrasha. allowing the students of these institutions to appear in the BCS examination and other government and non-government jobs’ examinations, the Ministry sources said.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid hoped that the Madrasha students would be benefitted by Islami Arabic University. It will also help to provide quality education and make them to be qualified, he said.
