Actress and director Meher Afroz Shaon’s mother Tahura Ali’s house was set on fire by an AC explosion. However, no casualties were reported. Shaon told the media the explosion took place
at 5:00am on Thursday. She shared several stills and a video of the house damaged in the blast on Thursday afternoon.
Shaon wrote on her post on social media, “Today at 5:00am, the AC of my room in my mother’s house in Gulshan-1 exploded and caught fire terribly. No one in the house was harmed physically, but mentally everyone was upset. And all the curtains, books, and beds in my house were burned!”
Fortunately, Shaon was not at home at the time of the blast. She wrote about this, “Just a few days ago, while visiting Nanabari, my youngest son Ninit stayed alone in that house! And when I go with my two sons, he stays at home! I’m still wondering what would have happened if we had been there today!”
Describing the incident, Shaon wrote, “A long-time cooking aunt was sleeping on the floor of the house. She was the first to hear the sound and see the fire. She says it didn’t happen without AC. Although the fire service people said that the AC was switched on! The idea is that he may have left the kitchen empty AC because he couldn’t stand the heat in the morning!”
