Abul Kalam Azad appointed as LGED Chief Engineer

Md. Abul Kalam Azad current Additional Chief Engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) has been appointed as the Chief Engineer of LGED. Azad is replaced of the former Chief Engineer Mr. Shyama Prosad Adhikari as his contractual tenure ended on 11 December 2017.
Azad joined LGED in 1983 as Assistant Engineer and served various positions including Upazila Engineer, Executive Engineer at field level and Project Director at LGED headquarters consecutively. Later on, he served as Superintending Engineering and promoted as Additional Chief Engineer in 2012.

 Azad is the most senior Additional Chief Engineer among all in this organization.
Azad completed Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1982 and earned Master’s in Highway Engineering from Birmingham University, UK in 1999.
Apart from this, he attended various seminar and workshop at home and abroad on various issues including Project Management, Governance, Asset Management and Road Research.
