Sheikh Arif Bulbon :
A solo painting exhibition titled My Beloved Motherland by artist Md Abu Salim is going on at Galerie Zoom of Alliance Francaise de Dhaka (AFD) in the city’s Dhanmondi area.
The exhibition was jointly inaugurated by Prof Dr Mizanur Rahman, Department of Law, University of Dhaka and eminent writer Selina Hossain on October 19.
From the unparalleled colours of six seasons to the innumerable waterbodies beaming with azure blue, Bangladesh – our beloved homeland reins the artist’s
paintings. They also bear
witness to the hardships of our people, the calamities they endure and the tribulations they vanquish to make their ends meet. Farmers, fishermen,
boatmen and people from
various walks of life become ineluctable characters in Abu Salim’s mind and he has tried
to capture perhaps a moment from their daily lives.
My Beloved Motherland is artist Md Abu Salim’s twelfth
solo exhibition. The exhibition will feature Salim’s twenty
recent works.
The exhibition will continue till October 31. The gallery will remain open from Monday to Thursday from 3:00pm to 9:00pm, Friday and Saturday (9:00am to12:00pm and 5:00pm to 8:00pm), while Sunday
is closed. n
