Maulana Abdullah Mohammad Hasan, President of Bangladesh Faraizi Movement, has announced his resignation from the post of Nayeb-e-Amir, questioning the leadership role of Hefazat-e-Islam.
He made the announcement at a press conference at the National Press Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Hasan said, “I feel the emptiness of great leadership like Shah Ahmad Shafi, the founder of Hefazat-e-Islam. Hefazat-e-Islam has been in crisis since his death. Grouping, factions have been created. People of different sects and ideologies have infiltrated their territory and they are trying to bring Hefazat-e-Islam to the forefront in order to achieve their political interests.”
Speaking at a press conference, the president of the Bangladesh Faraizi Movement said, “Hefazat-e-Islam has now become a platform for some people to implement their own agenda. Considering the issues, I resigned from the post of Nayed-e-Amir of Hefazat-e-Islam.”
Maulana Hasan said, “From now on, my organization Bangladesh Faraizi Movement will carry out all the necessary programs for the protection of independent and sovereign Islam and the welfare of the nation.”
“From now on, I and my party will not be responsible for any activities of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh,” he added.
