A union parishad member who was abducted from his house on Saturday was found dead near Laxmipur bridge in Chouddagram upazila on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Nurul Alam,40, son of Shamsul Alam of Dekra village. Family sources said coming in a microbus some masked miscreants picked up Nurul Alma from the house early Saturday morning.
Chouddagram thana officer-in-charge Uttam Kumer Chakravarty said after getting complaints they launched drive in different places in search of Alam and found his body lying under the bridge on Sunday morning.
The body bore some marks of injury on its head, legs and hands, he said.
The body was sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police said Nurul Alam was wanted in various cases including of murder.
