An abducted school girl rescued and abductor was arrested from Narayanganj area after 11 days of abduction by Gournadi police on Sunday.
The victim and accused after brought to Barishal produced before the court on Monday noon, said Golam Sarwar, Officer- In- Charge of Gournadi Police Station.
As per order of the court the rescued school girl sent to Barishal -Sher- E- Bangla Medical College Hospital for medical test and the accused abductor sent to jail at afternoon, police sources said.
Sub Inspector Asaduzzaman, investigation officer of the case lodged in this connection with Gournadi PS on January 16, said by taking help of technology police became sure about the existence of the victim and abductor in Narayanganj district. Then with the help of local police arresting the abductor recovered the victim on Sunday January 26, 2020.
In the case it was stated that the victim (Ismat Aktar,14, was a eighth grader at Krokir Char secondary school under Kalkini upazila of Madaripur district adjacent to Gournadi upazila.
Arrested abductor Anik Chowdhury, 26, was a mechanic of a motorcycle garage at Sahebrampur Bazaar of Kalkini, teasing the girl since long days giving love proposal.
On January 15 when the victim came Vurghata of Gournadi upazila by side of the Barishal-Dhaka highway to visit her maternal aunt, the accused Anik Chowdhury and his associates kidnapped the victim using a microbus.
As after the incident both the victim and accused became missing in the area, so Farid Bepari, maternal cousin of the victim, as complainant lodged an abduction case in this connection with Gournadi police station on January 16 and police started investigation, the police sources added.
