Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in a drive, rescued a minor body early Tuesday from Kalatoly area of the town, 14 days after his abduction.
The victim is Sakibul Hasan, 7, son of a USA expatriate Amir Hossen, of Borodail area under Baharchhara union in Teknaf upazila of the district.
RAB also arrested two alleged abductors at that time. They are: Md Amin, 22, son of late Md Kashem, of Dakkhin Borodail area in Teknaf, and Md Alauddin, 30, son of Akhter Hossen, of Kalatoly Jharjharipara area.
Company Commander of RAB Cox’s Bazar camp Lieutenant Commander of Ashekur Rahman informed this in a press briefing at the district headquarter of RAB on Tuesday at 12pm.
The minor’s mother Ayesha Begum said, “Sakibul went missing on February 21 last. Later, abductors called us demanding two and a half lakh taka as ransom from an unknown cell phone number. We first informed the matter to Ukhia Police Station and later to RAB. In the meantime, the abductors demanded Tk 70,000 through mobile phone.”
Lieutenant Commander of Ashekur Rahman said, “After getting written complaint, we rescued the boy from Jharjharipara area.”
