EPZ thana police of CMP rescued a transport driver after 12 hours of his abduction from Double Mooring area on Friday night.
The driver identified as Omar Faruk . In connection with the kidnapping, Md. Emran, Md. Mizan, Babul and Mohiuddin were rounded up . Abduct Faruk hails from patiya upazila of Chittagong and driver of private a commuter service Leguna vehicle in city. Sub inspector of EPZ thana Shamsul Islam told that a group of six terrorists picked up him from tea stall of Bandartila on Friday evening at about 3 pm and confined in a house of Newmooring area.
The kidnappers demanded ransom of Tk.7 lakh over cell phone of Faruk from his family members and the matter instantly was informed to EPZ thana police. After conducting raid by thana police , four abductors rounded up immediately out of six.
The abductors claimed Tk.7 lakh from the driver as taken as loan from them but they could not show any documents in favour of claim. Uncle of the abduct Jamir hossain lodged a abduction case before the police immediate after his nephew’s abduction, sources said.
