The members of Detective Branch (DB) of Police in a drive rescued an abducted businessman from a house at Savar on Wednesday morning.
DB men arrested three persons in this connection. They were identified as Md Russel, 23, Md Alamin, 17, and Jibon alias Sajeeb, 19, police said.
Police also recovered five swords, a dagger, and three cell phone sets with memory cards.
The abducted businessman Amir Hossain was kidnapped from Baipal area on Tuesday and he was repeatedly forced to pay ransom Tk 50 lakh from his family.
Russeal Sheikh, Assistant Police Super (Savar Circle) said that a team of DB conducted a drive following information and rescued Amir Hossain from a house at Batantek in Ashulia of Savar in the morning. They also arrested the abductors from the house.
Law enforcers recovered the country made arms from their possession, the police official said.
After testifying the seized memory cards, the ASP said, that police became sure that the ransom money had been demanded
A case had been filed in this connection with the Ashulia Police Station in the afternoon, he added.
