UNB, Dhaka :Dhaka Abahani Limited reached the final of the Walton Federation Cup Football Tournament eliminating Sheikh Russel KC by 2-1 goals in the 2nd semifinal at Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Friday.Abahani Limited will play the final on Monday (June 27) at 3:30 pm against Arambagh KS, which booked a seat for the final after 15 years eliminating Team BJMC by 3-1 goals in the first semifinal on Thursday.In the 2nd semifinal, Senegalese forward Camara Sarra put Abahani ahead in the very 5th minute of the match by a header when a curved free kick of Waly Faisal came his way from Nigerian forward Sunday Chizoba (1-0).Sheikh Russell came back into the game in the 63rd minute as Rumman found the Abahani net by a placing shot past onrushing custodian Sohel off a combined attack with Cameronian Paul Emile and Emily (1-1).Sunday Chizoba scored the match winning goal for Abahani Limited in the 68th minute by a curved right footer from the left edge of the box stunning Russel Mahmud Liton (2-1).Earlier in the very first minute of the match, Fikru Tefera, the Ethiopian forward of Sheikh Russel KC, ran down the right flank and found Abahani goalie Shahidul Alam Sohel alone under the bar but he sent the ball outside from vintage position.Three minutes later, Abahani came close to score as Camara Sarra paved the way for Sunday with a nice through pass but Sunday’s attempt missed the target.In the 38th minute, Sunday managed to sneak past the Russell defense and gave a square pass to Camara Sarra, but his placing shot was saved by Russell goalie Russell Mahmud Liton.Abahani Ltd made a frustrating start in the ongoing Federation Cup Football with a shocking 0-1 goal defeat against Arambagh KS in Group A opener but managed a quarterfinalberth beating Soccer Club Feni 1-0. Abahani Ltd smartly moved into the semifinal beating Brothers Union by 2-1 goals in the quarterfinal.
