Abahani, Mohammedan at same group in U-18 Football

The two arch-rivals Abahani Limited and Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited pitted at the same group of Airtel Under-18 Football Tournament schedule to begin on Saturday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) with the participation of nine professional league’s U-18 clubs.
In this regards, a draw ceremony of the tournament was held on Monday at the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) conference room.
Deputy Chairman of Professional Football League Committee (PFLC) Abdur Rahim, PFLC representatives Jakir Hossain Chowdhury and Hasanuzzaman Khan Babu, tournament co-sponsor Pragati Life Insurance deputy managing director Kaisar Rahman, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag and participating clubs officials were present on the occasion.
The champions of the meet will receive Taka 50,000.00 while the runners-up get Taka 25,000.00 as prize money.
Besides, all the participation teams will have Taka 3,000,00.00 as participation money.
Tile sponsor Airtel will provide Taka 30 lakh while so-sponsored Pragati Life Insurance and Amber Group will give in addition of Taka 5 lakh each to run the tournament.
The semifinals of the tournament will be held on September 27 and 28 while the final is slated on September 30, all at the BNS.
The participating clubs:
Group 1 – Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, Team Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation, Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra and Chittagong Abahani Limited.
Group 2 – Abahani Limited, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, Soccer Club Feni, Brothers Union Club and Uttar Baridhara Club.
