The match between Abahani Limited and Gazi Group Cricketers of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League rolled into reserve day after abrupt rain forced to postpone the play at the BKSP ground in Savar on Tuesday.
The match will resume today (Wednesday) at 9 am.
At BKSP’s No. 3 ground, Abahani Limited posted 276 for 6 in 50 overs. Thanks to Indian recruit Rajat Bhatia brilliant unbeaten 90 runs knock after Gazi Group Cricketers captain Alok Kapali sent Abahani to bat first.
Abahani captain Tamim Iqbal made his fourth 50-plus score in ongoing league making 55 runs off 66 balls. When his side was meandering at 155 for 4 inside 33 overs, Rajat and Mosaddek Hossain steered Abahani to a challenging total. Rajat cracked nine fours and two sixes in his unbeaten knock while Mosaddek contributed 47 from 46.
Gazi Group captain Kapali used nine bowlers to curve Abahani’s innings and four of them captured one wicket each. Mahedi Hasan proved most successful bowler with a figure of 2-32 in eight overs.
