Dhaka Abahani Limited beat Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited by 4-2 goals in their last Group B match of the Marcel Club Cup Hockey Competition at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.
Abahani Limited, the champions of the Group B secured 10 points from four matches while Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, the runners-up of the Group B bagged nine points from as many matches.
Habul of Abahani Limited scored two goals and his teammates Shafkat and Rumman successfully struck one time each on the board.
On the other hand, Taposh and Din Islam of Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited netted one goal each.
In the day’s other match, Sonali Bank SRC defeated Wari Club by 6-2 goals at the same venue.
Rocky of Sonali Bank scored three goals and his teammate Prosenjit netted two goals and their colleague Belal scored one goal.
On the other hand, Samir of Wari Club scored twice.
Usha Krira Chakra, the champions of the Group A will face Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited, the runners-up of the Group B in the first semi-final tomorrow at 4.00 pm while Abahani Limited, the champions of the Group B will meet Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club, the runners-up of the Group A in the second semi-final on May 7 at 4.00 pm at the same venue.
