Dhaka Abahani Limited again dropped points in the KFC Independence Cup Football Tournament after playing a goalless draw with Arambagh KS in Group B match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Sunday.
The crowd pulling sky-blue Dhanmondi outfit Abahani made a frustrating start in the season’s first meet after playing 1-1 draw with mediocre Soccer Club, Feni early this month.
After the day’s match, Abahani Limited have secured five points from three matches while Arambagh KS bagged four points from five matches.
In the 40th minute of the day’s match, Abahani Ltd were reduced to 10 men when forward Lee Tuck was sent off after receiving direct red card by referee as he hit opponent player Abu Sufian Sufil without ball.
After a barren first half, Arambagh made the first attempt in the 56th minute but a shot of their forward Arif Hawlader went straight to Abahani goalie Sultan Ahmed Sakil
Abahani were unfortunate in the 59th minute when their Nigerian forward Sunday Chizoba’s shot hit the crosspiece.
