A2i stall draws huge crowds at DITF

An IT-based innovative stall dreaming up new ideas and thoughts has been drawing people in hundreds, mostly youths and students, at an international trade fair infusing inventive spirit into the visitors to have a better future.
The technology-driven visitors thronged to the access to information (a2i) stall titled ‘Innovation for all’ at the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) in the city to make the people familiarized with the innovative products and software that can change their life significantly.
The a2i, with support from Cabinet Division, ICT Division, USAID and UNDP Bangladesh, has been facilitating public service and social innovation in Bangladesh to ensure accessible services for all.
The a2i is displaying 11 products and three application software at the stall located beside the Bangabandhu pavilion at the DITF for the first time, officials recently told BSS .
The products are Accessible Book Reader, Bak Bandhu, Solar Powered Tri-Cycle, Shikhar Jonno Alo, Solar Run Multimedia Classroom Devices, Centeral Nebulizer System, Smart Blind Stick, Low Cost Ambulance or Multi- Purpose Vehicle, Low Cost Power Tiller and Dual System Refrigerator while the three software are Eparking App, Joy App and Food at Home App, the officials added.
The a2i is looking for customers including distributors or dealers by displaying the products at the fair, they said.
Visiting the a2i stall, an undergraduate student of Jahangirnagar University Mushfiq Hasan Al Ameen told BSS, “We are very happy to see different innovative products under an umbrella that will help us generate new ideas about digital innovation”.
Shamsul Arefin, a secondary level student of a city school, said the exhibition of the digital projects in the fair can instill the idea of innovation among the students that would encourage them to innovate digital product.
