Miscreants stole all the family members by mixing anesthetics with food at Gafargaon, in Mymensingh. The incident took place in Shilasi Banshtala area of Gafargaon municipal town.
Md. Swapan Mia, 30, an electrician of Palli Bidyut, his wife Khadija Akhter Ima, 25, and Ima’s sister Suma Akhter, 21, lost consciousness due to the miscreants.
According to police and the victim’s family sources, the family of electrician Swapan Miah lives on the third floor of Banker Babul’s house in Banshtala area. Swapan Mia’s family ate dinner at 11 pm on Monday and everyone fell asleep. Earlier in the night, the miscreants had mixed anesthetics with their food through a kitchen window. As a result, they all became unconscious. Later, the miscreants cut the grill of the kitchen, entered the house, opened the steel cupboards and took away gold ornament and Tk-15,000 in cash. On Tuesday afternoon, housewife Ima got back her senses and informed the incident on her mobile phone.
Gafargaon Police Station OC Anukul Sarkar said police had visited the spot. The family has been asked to lodge a written complaint with the police station.
