Prominent composer, music director, Oscar winner singer of the Indian sub-continent, A R Rahman will perform in the opening ceremony of ‘T-20 World Cup Cricket 2014’ at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka today.
A R Rahman will perform under the banner of ‘Concert for Bangladesh Cricket’ that is scheduled to be held today. The concert is being organised by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the T-20 World Cup.
Though he World Cup is to begin on March 16, the concert will be held on March 13 at 3:30pm.
A R Rahman will be accompanied by a team of 80 members in his tour. This team consists of singers, instrument players, light and sound engineers, managers and others.
Besides this Oscar winning Indian composer and singer, Senegalese American R&B and hip hop icon Akon will also perform in the event.
It is the first ever tour to Bangladesh for both A R Rahman and Akon.
A R Rahman came to Dhaka on Tuesday.
