A poacher of deer named Rob Sardar (50), son of one late Moslem Sardar of village Ratia Rajapur under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district was arrested along 2 kgs venison from the near of his residence by police and forest guards on Monday morning, according to a delayed report received here.
Md. Saifur Rahman, Officer-in-charge of Sharankhola PS disclosed on Monday afternoon, acting on secret information a squad of police accompanied by the forest guards of Dhansagar Forest Office under Sharankhola Forest Range raided the village Ratia Rajapur on Monday morning and arrested poacher Rob Sardar along with the venison. It is also disclosed by the him (OC) that after hunting a spotted deer from Sundarbans and distributing its flesh among his associates he was returning home along with his share. But before reaching home he arrested.
