Chittagong district police in a series of drives arrested 96 persons including an Islami Chhatra Shibir activist from different Upazilas of the district on Tuesday night.
Abdul Awal, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district, saidpolice detained 96 persons including an Islami Chhatra Shibir activist from different upazilas of the district for their alleged involvement in sabotage activities and vandalism.
Police also recovered 465 contraband yaba tablets and 147 litres of country-made liquors during the drives.
The detainees included 85 wanted on different charges and 10 accused in regular cases, he said.
