The 94th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day was observed in the port city as elsewhere in the district today.
With a call for grooming up the future generations with the ideals of the great leader so that they could turn themselves into worthy citizens of the country.
District administration, different political parties, educational institution and socio-cultural organizations arranged detailed programmes to mark the day.
The programmes included children rally, placing of wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu, cultural function, discussion, essay competition, drawing competition and poetry recitation.
On the occasion, Chittagong District Administration organised the daylong programmes at District Shilpakola Academy.
Deputy Commissioner Abdul Mannan and leaders of different cultural organisations placed wreath at portrait of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Shilpakola Academy.
Later, a huge children and adolescent rally participated from different schools, started from Shilphakala academy premises that concluded at Shishu Academy.
State Minister for Land Saifuzzaman Chowdhury Jabed addressed the function as the chief guest.
