Sabotage cases: 93 BNP-Jamaat men chargesheeted

Two Sub-Inspectors (SI) of Paltan Police Station on Sunday submitted three separate charge sheets to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka against 93 leaders and activists of BNP, including its Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in two sabotage cases filed with Paltan Police Station.
SI Abdul Jalil and SI Bibekananda Devnath submitted the charge sheets to the concerned General Register (GR) branch of the court on Sunday.
Bibekananda submitted
two separate charge sheets against 53 BNP men, including Mirza Fakhrul, in a case filed under the Explosive Substances Act and the Penal Code, while Abdul Jalil submitted the other charge sheet to the court against 40 BNP leaders and activists, including Mirza Fakhrul, under the Penal Code.
Other accused of the three charge sheets include BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Mia, Aman Ullah Aman, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, Barkat Ullah Bulu, Joynal Abedin Faruque, Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Shamsur Rahman alias Shimul Biswas, Abdul Awaal Mintu and Sultan Salah Uddin Tuku.
The two police officers sought warrant against 22 accused as they are fugitives in the cases. Accused Mirza Fakhrul, Dudu, Annie and Rajib are on bail in the cases. The court fixed February 29 for hearing in the first two cases while March 3 was fixed to hear the other case (No. 5(1)15).
