The Faculty of Arts of Dhaka University awarded its 90 meritorious students with prestigious ‘Dean’s Award’ for their brilliant results.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique distributed the awards among the recipients as chief guest at a function held on Thursday at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban auditorium of the university.
Presided over by Dean of the Arts Faculty Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman, the function was addressed, among others, by renowned educationist Professor Emeritus of DU English Department Dr. A F Serajul Islam Chowdhury as the guest of Honour, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Nasreen Ahmad, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain and Treasurer Prof. Dr. Md. Kamal Uddin as special guests.
Prof Arefin congratulated the meritorious students for winning the Dean’s Award and urged them to play the leading roles in making the country more prosperous.
He said students must possess humanitarian qualities, moral values, honesty, sincerity and dedication as these qualities will help them prosper in life.
