Nine more Rohingyas, who sustained bullet wounds by security forces in Rakhine State of Myanmar, were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital on Monday. With the nine, the total number of injured Rohingyas at CMCH reaches 16 in last three days. Of them, Mohammad Musa, 22, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, said sub-inspector Jahirul Islam, in-charge of CMCH police outpost.
The injured are identified as Ziabul, 27, son of Nuruzzaman, Md Elias, 20, son of Hamid Hossain, Md Toha, 16, son of Hossain Ahmed, and Mubarak Hossain, 25, son of Nabi Hossian-hailed from different areas of Maungdaw in Myanmar.
The Rohingyas entered Bangladesh through several points along the Teknaf border following the fresh violence in Rakhine State in Myanmar.
Ziabul’s younger brother Md Yakub said, “Members of Myanmar security forces set fire on their houses in Maungdaw area. Many people sustained bullet wounds. He along with his family members entered Bangladesh crossing Teknaf border at night. He took three injured, including his brother, to CMCH.”
The injured were undergoing treatment at wards no 26 and 28 of CMCH.
Several bullet marks on different parts of their bodies were found, SI Jahirul added.
