9 killed in road crashes

At least nine people were killed and 40 others injured in separate road crashes across the country on Friday.
In Habiganj, three persons were killed and twenty others injured after a bus overturned in Bahubal upazila of the district on Friday.
The deceased identified as Kamala Akhter, 35, from Daulatpur village, Abu Sayed, 30, from Morora village under Shayestagan upazila and an unidentified woman aged 60.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bahubal Model Police Station Kamruzzaman told the media that the bus got smashed after bumping into a roadside tree, leaving three persons dead on the spot.
They were taken to Habiganj Modern District Sadar Hospital and others.
In Sirajganj, two persons were killed in a tragic road accident in Sadar upazila of the district on Thursday night.
The deceased were identified as Abdur Razzaq, 75, and a motorcycle rider Sabbir, 16, son of one Belal Hossain of Baoitara village in the upazila.
Sirajganj Sadar Police Station OC Mohammad Daud said that a motorcycle hit Abdur Razzaq while crossing a road in Charramgati area, leaving Abdur Razzaq and the motorcycle rider dead on the spot and the another motorcycle rider Sumon critically injured.
In Barishal, at least two persons including a woman were killed in two separate road accidents on Friday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Sefali Begum, 50, wife of one late Jamal from Kajirbad and a minor boy named Rakan,5. In Dhaka, a construction worker was run over by a covered van in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, on Friday afternoon.
Deceased Ujjal Hossain, 32, was the son of one Badar Ali, from Sadar upazila of Chapainawabganj. He lived in a rented house in Kurgaon area of Savar.
