9 held for HSC question leakage

The Detective Branch of Police on Monday picked up nine persons, including three college teachers, in Dhaka and Jessore for their suspected involvement in the leaking of Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and the Polytechnic examinations, question papers in 2014.
Police recovered polytechnic examination’s question papers also from the persons arrested in Jessore, DMP sources said. In Dhaka, three persons were detained in connection with Higher Secondary Certificate test question papers leak at Demra.
One of them is a member of the examination committee of the Golam Mostofa Model College in Dhaka’s Demra and other two are teachers of different colleges. Details will be disclosed in a press briefing later.
On July 6, police picked up six persons in Dhaka for demanding money from students after promising on Facebook to give HSC question papers in advance.
The Education Ministry, last year, was compelled to hold an examination twice due to a question paper leakage. There were also allegations of question papers being posted on social media platforms the night before the Primary, JSC and SSC examinations.
Even this year, the media had found a copy of the Accountancy paper leaked on Facebook, matching the original’s objective section.
