A court here on Monday sent nine leaders and activists of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its associate bodies to jail after rejecting their bail petition in three cases filed over torching a vegetable-laden truck by hurling petrol bombs at Jhaoil in Kamarkhanda upazila on December 21, 2013.
District Sessions Judge Jafrol Hasan passed the order after rejecting their bail petition when they surrendered before the court seeking bail.
Those who landed in jail include Kamarkhanda upazila unit BNP leader Abdus Salam, upazila Jubo Dal vice-president Abdul Jalil, upazila Swechchhasebak Dal joint convener Nazrul Islam, Chhatra Dal leaders and activists Nasim, Sanower Hossain, Nazrul Islam Jambu and Aminul Islaml.
