Rima Akhter (13), a schoolgirl in Kapasia, Gazipur, committed suicide by hanging herself with her elder sister on Sunday afternoon. He is the youngest daughter of Ratan Miah of Papla Chamurkhi village in Chandpur union of Kapasia upazila. She is an 8th class student of Vakoyadi Girls High School.
It is said that Rima Akhter committed suicide by closing the door of her house in the afternoon by wrapping a scarf around her neck.
The elder sister’s son-in-law, who was sent from abroad, was arrogant in not getting the gift of sari and got into a quarrel with the family members. Besides, there are often quarrels and disputes over various issues including lack of family. On the other hand, family sources said that he committed suicide out of pride as a result of unrest in the family due to his elder sister.
Kapasia Police Station Investigation Officer (SI) SM Aminul Islam confirmed the incident by visiting the spot. He said the body was recovered without any complaint and handed over to the family without an autopsy and an unnatural death case was registered at the police station.
