Chittagong district police in a series of special drives arrested 89 listed accused from different upazilas of the district on Monday night.
The law enforcers also seized 2,400 pieces Yaba tablets, 129 litres of liquor during the night-long drives.
In addition to upazila police, nearly 220 additional policemen participated in the drives that were conducted in different parts of the district including in the upazilas of Satkania, Lohagara, Sitakunda, Boalkhali and Chandanaish.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) of district special branch Naimul Islam said the arrestees were accused in different cases.
Separate cases were filed with the respective police stations in this connection.
