88 die of Covid till Thursday morning

Bangladesh on Thursday witnessed 88 deaths from covid-19 in last 24 hours till Thursday morning and recorded 2341 infections during the said time..
Data of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) showed that the death toll was 77 on Wednesday, 78 on Tuesday and 88 on Thursday.
With the latest development, the total number of deaths reached 11,393 in the country while the number of cases struck 756,955.

The average death in last seven days was 87.43. Among the 88 deceased, 52 were men and 36 women, 48 of them were from Dhaka division, 22 from Chittagong; five from Sylhet, four each from Rajshahi and Barisal, two each from Rangpur and Mymensingh and one from Khulna division.
Of the deceased, 85 patients died in different hospitals and three at home. Among them, 55 were above 60, 12 between 51 and 60, 15 between 41 and 50, three between 31 and 40, and one between 21 and 30.
So far, 8,321 men (73.04 pc) and 3,076 women (26.96pc) have died from Covid-19 across the country.
The mortality rate stands at 1.51 pc.
The health authorities said that 4,782 people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. So far, 677,101 patients, 89.45pc, have made full recovery across the country.
As many as 24,928 samples, including the pending ones, were tested in the 358 authorized laboratories across the country. The latest figures show an infection rate of 9.39 pc which is lower than that of Wednesday and the overall infection rate of the country stands at 13.89pc. Currently, 19,427 people are in isolation and 50,948 are quarantined.
On Thursday, another 30 people got the first dose, taking the total number of first doses to 5,819,646. While 119,071 got the second dose during the same time, taking the total vaccinated people to 2,698,155.
