BSS, Chittagong :
Chittagong district and Metropolitan police in overnight drives arrested 86 people including four Jamaat-Shibir activists from different upazilas of the district and Bakalia area of the city on Monday night.
Mohammad Naimul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district, said they arrested 58 people including three Jamaat-Shibir activists and 55 accused in regular cases.
Mohammad Mohsin (OC) officer -in- Charge of Bakalia thana said Bakalia thana police arrested 28 people including a Jamaat-Shibir activist and 27 others in different cases.
Police also recovered 406 pieces of Yaba tablets from Shah Amanat bridge area in the city during the drives.
