The total number of diabetic patients in Bangladesh is now 84 lakh, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said.
Replying to a question from treasury bench member Noor-un-Nabi Chowdhury in the House on Wednesday, he said Bangladesh Diabetic Association has been providing treatment to diabetic patients across the country through its hospitals.
Apart from this, all public medical college hospitals, specialized hospitals, district level hospitals and upazila level hospitals are giving treatment to diabetic patients across the country.
It is true that the number of diabetic patient is increasing day by day in the country, Nasim said adding that Bangladesh Diabetic Association and the government have been providing treatment to them.
