Police in a drive seized 8000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from a private car in Lohagara Bazar area on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway early on Monday.
Police also detained the car driver M Ekhlas, 35, son of Syed Ahmed, of Shudharam thana in this connection.
Muhammad Shahjahan, OC of Lohagara thana, said a team of police searched a private car in Lohagara Bazar area in the morning and found 8000 pieces of yaba tablets. A case was filed in this connection.
