8 rivers marked rise, 66 fall

Water levels in 8 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise and 66 stations recorded fall. Among the 83 monitored water level stations, water levels at four monitored river stations are flowing above their respective danger marks while four river stations have remained steady, a bulletin issued by FFWC said on Saturday.
The Dhaleswari at Elasin, Jagir, the Lakhya at Lakhpur and the Kangsha at
Jariajanjail are flowing above their respective danger levels by 11 cm, 6 cm, 70 cm and 30 cm.
All major rivers are in falling trend, the FFWC bulletin added.
Significant rainfall was recorded in some stations in different districts during the last 24 hours ending at 6 am on Saturday.
