The authority has sealed off eight hospitals and diagnostic centers in the last one week at Bagmara upazila in Rajshahi district due to unhygienic atmosphere and for keeping illegal documents.
Jalal Uddin Uzzal, a lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court served the notices on behalf of the “Lawyer’s Society for Law”, an organization for keeping human rights.
The notices were sent to secretariat of ministry of health and family welfare, directorate of health ministry, director of Rajshahi divisional, Rajshahi district administration, civil surgeon, Bagmara upazila nirbahi officer, employee of upazila health and family planning and officer-in-charge of the upazila.
Lawyer Jalal Uddin said that a number of eight private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centers of the upazila have to seal off immediately because of various irregularities.
The owners of the hospitals are conducting their activities without any licenses and proper documents. The operation theaters were located in dirty and shady places. Even, they cannot provide better services for the patients. If the conditions have been ongoing, the patients’ health will be bad seriously, he also added.
