8 more killed in road crashes

At least eight persons were killed and 20 others seriously injured in separate road crashes across the country on Wednesday.
In Narsingdi, at least two people were killed after a face to face collision between a truck and a pickup van in Madhabdi upazila of the district on Wednesday morning.
The accident happened on Dhaka-Sylhet highway around 10 am on Wednesday. The deceased were identified as pickup van driver Amir Hossain, 35, son of one Fazlul Haque, of Baghata area of Narsingdi sadar upazila and Anabil, 24, a salesman of Madhumati Bakery of Shibpur upazila of the district.
Abu Taher Dewan, Officer-in-Charge of Madhabdi Police Station confirmed the matter to the media.
In Chapainawabganj, a motorbike driver named Mamun, 40, was killed after a collision with an engine-driven van-vot-voti in Gomostapur upazila of the district.
The accident took place at Rahanpur Colony Intersection around 12 pm on Wednesday.
Jasim Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Gomostapur police station, confirmed the matter to media.
In Gopalganj, a motorcyclist named Razib Sheikh, 35, was killed in a road accident in Kashiani upazila of district on Tuesday night.
Deceased Razib Sheikh was a fish trader and a resident of Paikerpara village in the upazila.
Kashiani Police Station Officer-in-Charge Azizur Rahman said the news to media.
In Cummila, an unidentified person,36, was killed when a vehicle rammed him at Madhiya area on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway on Tuesday night.
Monirul Islam, in-Charge of Highway Police confirmed the matter to the media.
In Brahmanbaria, an youth named Sharif Mohammad Nayeem,25, was killed when a truck hit him in Sadar upazila of the district.
Hossain Sarker, Officer-in-Charge of Khatihata Highway Police told the matter media.
In Mymensinghy, a worker named Ainul Haque,32, was killed when a private car hit him in Fulpur upazila of the district on Wednesday.
