8 more killed in road crashes

At least eight persons were killed and many others seriously injured in separate road crashes across the country on Saturday.
In Rajbari, at least four persons died and 10 others got injured following a face to face collision among a bus, a truck, and a microbus at Alladipur Bazar area of sadar upazila in the district.
The accident took placed around 9: 30 am on the Doulotdia-Kushtia Highway on Saturday morning.
Of the four deceased, two were identified as Asma Khatun, 32, wife of one Towhidur Rahman from Satkhira district and Rawshan Ali, 50.
Swapon Kumar Majumdar, Officer-in-Charge of Rajbari Sadar Police Station confirmed the matter to the media.
In Dhaka, a banker and a driver were killed after a pick-up van fell into a ditch beside the Dhaka-Aricha Highway in front of Bangladesh Betar in Cosmos area of Dhamrai on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Mithu, 35, a pick-up van driver and Towhidul Islam Tushar, 27, a banker.
Local sources said that on Saturday morning, the Manikganj-bound pick-up van – coming from Nabinagar of Savar lost control in the Cosmos area and fell into a nearby ditch. As a result, the driver and the passenger instantly died.
Dipak Chandra Saha, Officer-in-Charge (OC), of Dhamrai Police Station confirmed the matter to the media.
In Sirajganj, two persons were killed and three others injured when a truck rammed into a auto-rickshaw at Nabogram in Ullapara upazila of the district on Friday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Mohadeb,35, and Sahiudul Islam,38.
Nadir Hossain, Station Officer of Ullapara Fire Station told the matter to the media.
