8-member workers’ team leaves for India

A delegation of leading various workers’ federations on Friday left for a three-day visit to India to promote workers and establish their rights in the working places, a release said.
The delegation led by president of Bangladesh Labour Federation and former lawmaker Shah Mohammad Abu Zafar would attend International Trade Union Confederation Asia Pacific Regional (ITUCAPR) conference in Kochi city under Kerala province.
The ITUCAPR conference would begin from tomorrow (August 1) with participation of delegations from 31 countries, the release added.
The delegation members are general secretary of Jatiya Sramik League Sirajul Islam and former Member of Parliament Rawshan Jahan Sathi, workers’ leader Anwar Hossain and women affairs secretary Kohinoor Mahmood, Mojibur Rahman Bhuiyan and others.
They are expected to interact with the delegates from other countries on various issues specially worker’s right at work places, according to the release.
