UNB, Dhaka :Police on Monday arrested eight fake Detective Branch(DB) of police personnel from Banasree area in the city. Police also recovered one country made pipe-gun, two wireless sets, a handcuff and a microbus.The arrestees are Md Ali, 25, Md Ripon, 25, Md abul Khayer, 25, Md Monir, 28, Md Onik, 26, Md Iqbal, 20, and Md Rubel, 28, and Md Sumon, 23.DB sources said acting on a tip-off, a DB special team conducted a drive in front of BRAC bank Banasree branch at about 12:37 pm and arrested the gangsters along with the firearms and others other goods.During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees reportedly revealed that they had been involved in snatching money from people introducing themselves as DB police.A case was filed with Rampura police station.
