The 7th founding anniversary of Shahid Khaleque Ibrahim General Hospital was observed on the hospital premises in the city’s Wari on Wednesday.
Presided over by Md Nazrul Islam, Director and Consultant (Eye) of SK-IG Hospital, and Eminent Journalist and Editor of The New Nation A M Mufazzal delivered his lecture as the chief guest. Director of (PR), NHN (BADAS) Dr CM Delwar Rana spoke as the special guest.
Director and Consultant of Ibrahim Foot Care Hospital Dr JR Wadud, Endocrinologist Dr Reaz Hamid and LAB In-Charge Shafiqul Islam, among others, were present on the occasion.
Earlier in the morning, Chief Executive Officer of NHN (BADAS) Dr MA Samad inaugurated a diabetic screening programme there. The doctors carried out free diabetic test on at least 169 people. Of those, 47 were found to be affected with diabetes.
Shahid (Martyr) Khaleque Chowdhury Sadeque was kidnapped by the Razakars, anti-liberation force, on the morning of December 10 in 1971 from his residence. His body has not still been found.
The 9-storied building with its land was donated by his family to Bangladesh Diabetic Samity.
This hospital is running under the supervision of National Healthcare Network of BADAS.
