State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said, 70 percent people of Galachipa Upazila will get electricity connection by December 2018.
He said, the Rural Electrification Board (REB) will do everything to bring under electricity coverage of the people in the island areas of southern region including Galachipa..
Nasrul Hamid made this comment while he was addressing as chief guest at a function of Patuakhali Polli Bidyut Samity for providing electricity connection among 2781 families on February 6.
Regional General Manager of REB Engineer Hafizur Rahman presided over the function. MP of Patuakhali-3 AKM Jahangir Hossain, Member ( Development and Planning) of REB Sunil Chandra Day, Zila Parishad Administrator Khan Mosharraf Hossain, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shamsul Haque Siddiki, Police Superintendent Mushfiqur Rahman, among others, spoke in the function.
