UNB, Dhaka :Police arrested seven leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Swechhasebok Dal from Nayapaltan area in the city during their protests against submitting chargesheet against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.Sub-Inspector Dulal, duty officer at Paltan Police Station, said seven Swechhasebak Dal leaders and activists – Rashed, Jahangir, Sadman, Soikat, Mostafizur Rahman, Masim Mia and Anikur Rahman – were arrested as they brought out a protest procession in front of BNP’s Noyapaltan central office around 12:30 pm.They were shown arrested in a case filed with the police station on January 17, said sub-inspector Selim Akand.A leader of ‘Asol BNP’ filed the case against activists of BNP and its front organisation on charge of attacking its leaders and activists as well as torching vehicles.The Swechhasebak Dal men were produced before a Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court seeking a 7-day remand for them for interrogation.
