7 more killed in road crashes

At least seven more persons were killed and several others critically injured in separate road crashes across the country on Tuesday night and Wednesday.  
In Brahmanbaria, a couple was killed in a road accident in Suhilpur area of Sadar upazila in the district on Tuesday evening.
The deceased were identified as Bishnupada Dev, 66, and his wife Anju Rani, 55, of Paikpara area of the district town.
The accident took place when a bus hit an CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Shuhilpur on Cumilla-Sylhet regional highway, leaving the couple dead, said Hossain Sarker, Officer-in-Charge of Khatihata Highway Police Station.
In Gopalganj, a man was killed in a road crash when a truck rammed him in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj early Wednesday. The deceased identified as Mohammad Ali, 45, was the muazzin of a local mosque at Pona.
Azizur Rahman, Officer In-Charge (OC) of Kashiani Police Station said the news to media that driver of a sand laden truck ran over Mohammad Ali when he was crossing the Dhaka-Khulna highway on his way to mosque, leaving him dead on the scene.
The truck, later, fell into a roadside ditch. The body was sent to Gopalganj General Hospital morgue, the OC said.
In Sylhet, a truck driver named Ajmal Hossain (45) was killed in a road accident at Dubagh union of Beanibazar upazila of the district.
The accident occurred on Wednesday at the village of North Chariya of the union.
Ajmal was a resident of Pharipangi village of the union.
Beanibazar thana Acting Officer (OC) Abani Shankar Kar confirmed the matter to media.
In Dinajpur, A BGB member named Mujibul Islam (25) who was critically injured in a road accident in Parbatipur Dinajpur, died while undergoing treatment
at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RAMEC) around 2am. Parbatipur Model Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mokhlesur Rahman confirmed the matter to media.
In Sirajganj,a driver of local Nochimon named Magarb Ali (35) was killed in a road accident in Hamkuria area under Tarash upazila of the district.
The accident occurred on the Hamkurian-Banpara Highway around 10am on Wednesday.
Magharb Ali was the son of Nabir Ali of Telkupi village under in the upazila. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hatikumria Highway Police Abdul Kader Jilani told news media.
In Chuadanga, a woman named Begum Rahatunnesa (60) was killed in Almasadhu (Bhutavati) accident in Alamdanga Upazila of the district.
The accident occurred on Tuesday evening at Dholaikhali of the upazila. Sadar Hospital emergency department doctor Sonia Ahmed confirmed the incident to media.
