7 more killed in road crashes

At least seven persons were killed and many others seriously injured in road crashes across the country on Saturday.
In Barishal, two persons were killed when a private car rammed a battery-run auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka-Barishal Highway in Kashimpur area of the city on Saturday morning.
The incident took place around 9 am on Saturday.
The deceased were identified as Hashem, 40, from Kashimpur area, and Saleha Begum, 55, from Airport Police Station area.
Zahid-Bin-Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Airport Police Station confirmed the news to the media that the car rammed the three wheeler around 9am near Kashipur Bazar , leaving Abdur and Saleha critically injured.
Locals took them to Sher-e-Bangla Medical College (SBMC) Hospital where doctors declared them dead, the OC added.
The bodies have been kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy.
In Dinajpur, at least two motorcyclists were killed in a tragic road crash.
The deceased were identified as Shanjib Roy, 15, son of Haridas Roy, and Mintu Chandra Roy, 16, son of Goynath Chandra Roy from Chandikali village of Biral upazila of Dinajpur district.
The incident took place around 11pm on Friday midnight. Biral Police Station Officer-In-Charge (OC) ATM Golam Rasul said Shanjib and Mintu were on a motorcycle when it hit a tree.
They were admitted to M Abdur Rahim Medical College (MARMC), where they died later.
In Satkhira, a motorcyclist named Kazi Saidur Rahman,56, was killed and 12 other passengers of bus injured when a bus rammed the bike in Kaliganj upazila of the district on Saturday afternoon.
Delowar Hossain, Officer- in-Charge of Kaliganj Police Station confirmed the matter to the media.
In Jashore, a motorcyclist named Rabbi Hossain, 28, was killed in a road accident.
The incident took place around 11am on Saturday.
The deceased Rabbi Hossain was son of one Rafiqul Islam from Rari Pukur village of Sharsha upazila of Jashore district. The incident occurred around 11am on Saturday.
Baghachhra police station Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Shukdeb Roy said.
In Gopalganj, a biker was killed as an unknown vehicle rammed into motorcycle in Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Monir Sheikh, 35, and son of one Nannu Sheikh, an inhabitant of Tholnarpar village under Banshbaria union in the upazila.
