At least seven more persons were killed and several others critically injured in Rajshahi, Kishoreganj and Lalmonirhat districts onWednesday.
In Rajshahi, at least three persons, including two motorcyclists, were killed and four others critically injured when a passenger bus ploughed into a shop after losing control in Nowdapara area of Rajshahi city onWednesday.
The deceased were identified as a school girl Anika, 13, Tinku, 30, and Sabuj, 35, residents of Match Factory area under Shah Makhdum thana. The accident took place around 12:15pm.
Local sources said that a Naogaon to Rajshahi bound bus of Aero Bengal Transport hit a motorcycle to enter into Jahangir Traders beside the road.
Iftekhayer Alam, Senior Assistant Commissioner (Sadar) of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) confirmed the matter to media.
In Kishoreganj, three people were killed when a passenger bus and auto-rickshaw collided in Kuliarchar upazila of Kishoreganj on Wednesday afternoon.
The identities of the deceased could not be known yet. Kuliarchar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Nannu Molla said the incident took place in Konapara area around 3:45pm on Bhairab-Kishoreganj Road.
In Lalmonirhat, an assistant of truck was killed when a truck struck another truck in Kaliganj upazila of Lalmonirhat on Wednesday (August 15).
The deceased details couldn’t be identified instantly.
Locals said that a truck was kept stranded beside Burimari Highway in Hazranio area. Then another speedy truck hit the first one from behind, leaving the helper trapped inside while the driver fled away.
Makbul Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kaliganj Police Station confirmed the matter to media.
