7 more doctors suspended for skipping duty

Seven more government doctors were suspended on Sunday for skipping duties, said sources at the Health and Family Welfare Ministry.
The doctors are junior consultant (paediatrics) Dr Syed Ahsan Tawhid, junior consultant (oculist) Jan-e-Alam Mridha and Emergency Medical Officer (EMO) Dr M Sakhawat Hossain of Dhamrai upazila health complex in Dhaka, assistant surgeon of Boail health centre Dr Jannatul Ferdousi, assistant surgeon of Kusura health centre Dr Romana Akhter, medical officer of Gutila health centre Dr Namun Nahar and medical officer of Belishar
health centre Dr Jerin Jindia Hossain under the upazila.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim issued the suspension order after the doctors were found absent at their workplaces on February 12.
Joint secretary to the Health Ministry Basudeb Ganguly and director (admin) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr M Shahnewaz made sudden visits to their workplaces on the day. Earlier, 11 doctors were suspended in the last one month on the same charge.
