7 lakh Yabas seized Seven including four Myanmarese held

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab)-7 on Tuesday in Chittagong arrested a syndicate of Bangladesh and Myanmar nationals that smuggles Yaba pills through trawlers.
 The rab officials arrested owner of the consignment Md Faruk, of Teknaf, and Nurul Amin, of Barguna, and Md Nabi Hossain, Md Ishak, Md Sharif Hossain and Nurul Amin, all of Myanmar, with seven lakh Yaba pills worth Tk 28 crore from the trawler, MV Rifa, in the Bay of Bengal. But, Faruk’s partner Abul Kalam could not be arrested.
During interrogation the arrestees admitted that they had so far smuggled in 6 lakh Yaba pills from Myanmar to Barisal district.
On October 6, Rab-7 held two of a similar sydicate, one of Bangladesh and other of Myanmar, with five lakh Yaba tablets worth Tk 20 crore.
