7 killed in road crashes

At least seven persons, including women and children, were killed and 30 others critically injured in several road crashes across the country on Friday.
In Bogura, three people, including a woman and her minor daughter were killed and five others seriously injured as a bus fell into a roadside ditch in Shibganj upazila of Bogura early Friday. The deceased were identified as Shabnur Begum, 22, and her daughter Manjila Akhter, 3, residents of Bohra village under Pirganj upazila of Thakurgaon and Mehedi Hasan, 3, son of one Al Amin of Dinajpur.
Local sources said that, a passenger bus fell into the roadside ditch after it’s driver lost control over the steering in Rohobol around 1am in the midnight, leaving three dead on the scene and five others wounded.
The injured rushes to Gobindaganj Upazila Health Complex for treatment, Gobindaganj Police Station OC Abdul Quader Zilani said.
In Sirajganj, at least two persons including a woman were killed and three others injured in a tragic road crash in Raiganj Upazila of Sirajganj on Friday morning.
The deceased were identified as Sheuli Khatun, 30, daughter of one Abdul Hamid Khan of Sorai Hazipur village, and Jewel Hossain, 65, of Laxmibishnuprasad Khalifapara village in the Upazila.
Raiganj Fire Service and Civil Defence acting station officer Ahsan Habib confirmed the matter to the media.
In Dhaka, a driver of a bus was killed in a road crash in Rampura bridge area in Dhaka early Friday.
Deceased was identified as Amir Hossain, 30, son of one late Nur Islam, an inhabitant of Chotomanik village in Borhanuddin upazila of Bhola.
Amir was a bus driver in Aftabnagar area of Merul Badda. Hatirjheel Police Station Sub-Inspector Dipankor Kumar said, an unknown vehicle ran over Amir in the area at early hours on his way to workplace, leaving him critically injured.
After being informed, police rushed to the spot and sent him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
