7 killed in road accidents

Seven people have been killed in separate road traffic accidents in Narayanganj, Munshiganj, Noakhali and Chittagong districts.
At least six others have been injured in the accident that occurred in Munshiganj on Friday.
In Narayanganj, a truck ran over one ‘Baten’ of Noapara in Rupganj and ‘Taslima’ of Sonargaon’s Nawbhita after a covered van hit their motorcycle at Lalati area on Madanpur-Bhulta-Jayadevpur road in Narayanganj.
Highway police Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam said police seized the covered van and the truck after the incident on Friday noon but the drivers fled.
Another motorcyclist Ziaur Rahman, 33, died after being crushed between a truck and a pickup van at Shimulia Ghat at Lauhajang in Munshiganj. Mawa Police Outpost SI Yunus Ali said Rahman, who hailed from Mandalparha Anupamnagar in Chapainawabganj, died on the spot after the incident at 11am. Sergeant Md Hasan of the district’s Hasharha Police Outpost said a bus passenger died after a Mawa-bound bus skidded into a roadside ditch at Srinagar’s Samashpur area.
Police could not ascertain the identity of the victim aged around 25. He died after being admitted to Sholaghar Health Complex. At least six others were also injured in the accident, Sergeant Hasan said.
In Noakhali, two autorickshaw passengers died after the three-wheeler collided with a bus at Durgapur Union under Begamganj Upazila
around 10am. Begumganj police SI Nurul Amin said they could not ascertain the identities of the transgender victims. A labourer died in a collision between a trolley and a covered van at Chittagong port’s New Mooring Container Terminal in the early hours of Friday. The deceased Abul Bashar, 39, hailed from Noakhali’s Charfakir Haat.
